Fifteen standard exterior body colors are available in 1968 in addition to special-order (extra-cost) colors. Pontiac's "Magic-Mirror" finish is achieved by a special Thermo-reflow painting process, utilizing acrylic lacquers. The result of baking the paint at an extra-high temperature, just long enough for the paint to reflow, is an exceptionally smooth surface that retains its "showroom-new" look far longer than ordinary finishes.

Convertible and Cordova Top Colors.
For 1968, four color choices are available for either convertible tops or the extra-cost Cordova Top. They are: Ivory-White (Code1); Black (Code 2); Teal (Code 5); and Gold (Code 8). The Cordova Top is available on all models except Catalina 2-door Sedan and Tempest Custom and Tempest Safari Station Wagons. Decor option is required on Tempest, Tempest Custom and Catalina Series.
