(back) Subject: Re: Proportioning valve From: "ROY D LUMSDEN" <rlumsden@tampabay.rr.com> Date: Sat, 27 Jan 2001 09:36:41 -0500 Bob, Are you restoring your car back to factory original? If not, I may have a solution. I just purchased all the replacement brake and fuel lines for my 68 RS Camaro project. I bought a "disc brake conversion kit" that uses a very common all-in-one splitter/proportioning valve. The valve can be = found on cars made through the 70s and 80s and can still be purchased new from = GM for around $60. It make for a nice clean installation that only the most indignant purest would snub. The company is called Fine Lines and are listed in ad section of most automotive magazines. I found them very pleasant to work with and prompt. While others said two to three weeks, I received my order from them in 6 days. They also had the best price... $300 for all lines (in mild steel, stainless available) including transmission to distributor vacuum and transmission cooler lines. (back) Subject: Re: uncommon options ..... From: "Bryan & Mone'" <bryandmo@home.com> Date: Sat, 27 Jan 2001 13:14:49 -0800 The speed warning on mine is a knob you turn on the left dash. There is a white needle in the speedometer and you set it to where you want to be warned. When the car reaches that speed, a buzzer goes off. It is an early cruise control :) Look for the knob near the power top switch if you have one. I need to order the PHS docs to see if it was original or not since the cluster "seems" to have been replaced.
