Soft, Low-profile Window Control Knobs and Coat Hooks.
This standard safety feature, introduced in 1967, is retained for 1968. these knobs and coat hooks, molded from soft, pliable vinyl material, are designed to break away on impact, thus providing an extra margin of safety.

Inside Day-Night Mirror with Deflecting Base.
Standard on all Pontiac series, this specially constructed mirror features shatter-resistant, vinyl-edged glass and breakaway support. Finger knob control permits instant adjustment to non-glare position. An outside rearview mirror for driving is also standard on all series.

Seat Belts for All Passenger Positions.
All 1968 Pontiac models equipped with full-width, bench-style seats, feature three sets of seat belts, front and rear. Strato-bucket front seats require one set of belts per seat,
|

while the third folding seat in 3-seat station wagons have two sets of belts. All belts, color-harmonized to car's interior, feature pushbutton buckle releases. Right and left belt retractors are standard for front seats.

Folding Seatback Latches.
These latches are standard on all Pontiac models equipped with folding front seats. The latches keep the front seatbacks locked securely in place while in the normal seating position. Release levers for conventional folding seats are located at the base of the seatbacks, while the release levers for Strato-bucket, Strato-bench and Notch-back bench front seats are located at the top outboard corner of the seatbacks.

Passenger-guard door Locks.
These locks, redesigned for 1968, now feature deflecting lock buttons of soft vinyl on all doors. When the lock buttons are depressed, the door handles will not unlock door. This prevents accidental opening of doors.
